No two leaves of the ‘Ukigumo’ Japanese Maple will be the same, thanks to unusual, yet attractive, foliage. Pale green sprinkles are etched onto a creamy background on the leaves of this plant, with just a subtle hint of pink spreading at the tips.
Speckly leaves combine with others that appear completely cream to form an outstanding overall effect.
These leaves emerge in a five-lobed form, and as they mature in autumn, a bright peach to deep red shade takes over to suit the season, before falling to unveil fine branches, ready to take on further growth in the new year.
You will even be able to see a changing show from year to year, as the longer your Acer is in your garden, the more variegated the leaves will become each year.
As a slow growing Japanese Maple, ‘Ukigumo’ is right at the top of the list for potted specimens, while also looking right at home in a small garden.
Supplied as an established plant in a 3L pot, ready for planting.
Acers generally do not need pruning, just remove any branches that are dead or damaged.
