An easy-to-grow houseplant that is fascinating to look at and boasts practical uses – what is there not to love about the classic Aloe vera?
This slow-growing succulent has thick fleshy leaves with toothed edges that form a wide rosette over time and makes a striking plant for a bright, sunny position. This dessert plant can tolerate both neglect and lack of water incredibly well, so you do not have to fret about it as it grows.
You can even move this windowsill favourite outside for the summer, to allow it to make the most of the sunlight and warmth, just be sure to save it from direct sunlight for a handful of days to allow it to acclimatise.
Not just a top plant for your office, Aloe Vera boasts cooling sap which can be used to soothe burns, while many people use the juice as a hair conditioner, makeup remover, or even a skin tonic.
To use the juice, simply remove a leaf from the plant and slit it along its length, scooping out the contents with a spoon.
Supplied as an established plant in a 10.5cm pot.
Please note: The pictured decorative pot is not included.
