Known as Chinese Money Plants or missionary plants, Pilea peperomioides are compact and upright houseplants with rounded green leaves on long, arching stalks.
Very easy to grow and care for, these plants enjoy good light and high humidity and appreciate a regular misting - if you notice the leaves starting to curl, this means the plant isn’t getting enough light.
Fully deserving its coveted RHS Award of Garden Merit, you can be sure that this is a proven performer, guaranteed to be suitable for UK plant lovers at every level of experience. You can therefore grow these houseplants with confidence.
Originating from southwestern China, these are still quite rare plants, with lily pad style leaves that look lovely as they sway on any gentle breeze that enters the room.
Pilea loves lots of bright, indirect sunlight and reacts quickly to it, having a tendency to grow all of its leaves towards the light. As it grows quickly, it’s a good idea to rotate the plants a couple of times each week so that you get straight central stems with leaves in all directions.
Supplied as a set of three potted plants in 6cm nursery pots, growing to a height and spread of 50cm.
Your plant will enjoy a summer holiday outdoors, where it’ll make a great centrepiece for a patio table.
