Product Information

If you love primroses and want to achieve a winter garden full of colour, this ‘Bonelli Bicolour' collection certainly fits the bill.

Bright colours are paired with pinks and white to give a subtle, elegant look when compared to the bold vibrance of other varieties.

These early flowering primulas will brighten up planters and borders from autumn into the following spring. They can also be grown as potted plants in a cool conservatory or greenhouse.

Primroses are woodland plants, so they love shaded areas and look wonderful underneath shrubs and trees, as their colour makes them appear to glow in the dappled light, set off by their rosettes or wrinkled, oval evergreen leaves. Occasionally, they will flower for a second time in summer.

Over the years they will form large clumps which can be lifted and divided, giving you more and more plants to add to your garden. Very easy to grow, they can be left on their own.

Supplied as 10 garden ready plants, ready to plant.

Top Tips

It is best to acclimatise your primrose plants to outside conditions over 7 to 10 days, before planting out in their final positions.

Care Information

  • Choose a position in full sun or semi shade on any fertile, moist, well drained soil.
  • Keep well watered (but not waterlogged) until established - during the winter, avoid over-watering and don't allow water to sit in the crown as this may cause the plants to rot in cold conditions.
  • Deadhead spent blooms to encourage more flowers.
  • Established or overcrowded clumps of primroses can be divided in late autumn and early spring.
