This veritable superfood is believed to carry all manner of health benefits and is recommended by health experts and dieticians accordingly. Packed full of vitamins and minerals as well as antioxidants, they are not only really good for you, but they taste superb too!

Blueberries provide true season-long interest, with wonderfully fragrant tubular blossom in spring, followed by delicious fruits that form and colour up ready for picking from June onwards. An unusual and unique blueberry, 'Yellowberry Blue' boasts yellow leaves and contrasting blue fruits.

A real novelty, the warm yellow leaves are tinged with pink and orange tones and make for an altogether highly decorative plant for the kitchen garden. As a bonus, the compact nature ensures that like many other blueberry types, 'Yellowberry' is ideal for container growing - so you don't even need a garden, or orchard, in order to benefit from the decorative beauty!

Blueberries make brilliant patio plants and will grow perfectly in pots do remember to use ericaceous (slightly acidic pH) compost though as all blueberries are lime intolerant. In autumn, the foliage will provide a bright flourish of colour before falling off for the winter.

Supplied as an established plant in a 3L pot ready for immediate planting.

Top Tips
  • While tolerant of shade, blueberries crop better in the sun.
  • Cover plants with netting when in fruit, otherwise you'll just end up feeding the birds.
  • Pick over the plants several times as not all the fruit ripens at the same time.
  • Fruits can be left on the bush for a few more days after they turn blue for a more intense and complex flavour, when they'll also easily pull away from the cluster.
  • Although self-fertile and able to produce a good crop on their own, blueberries yield much more heavily if planted near another one.
Care Information
  • Plant in well-drained, acidic soil in a sunny, sheltered spot.
  • If your garden soil has a pH over 5.5, your blueberry is best grown in a pot, in ericaceous soil. Keep it well-watered - don’t allow the soil to dry out.
  • Water blueberries with rainwater if you can, as tap water will gradually raise the pH level.
  • Feed every month with a liquid fertiliser for ericaceous (lime-hating) plants.
  • If growing blueberries in the garden, add plenty of organic matter such as pine needles or composted conifer clippings. Avoid farmyard manure as it will scorch the roots.
  • Pruning is rarely needed across the first two years. After that, prune in late Feb – early March, aiming to remove a proportion of old wood every year. Two-year-old wood is the most productive.
  • Take out any damaged, dead, and diseased wood and prune out low branches that will lie on the ground when full of fruit.
Delivery Information

Please allow us 3-5 working days to dispatch your order. Pre-ordered items will be sent as soon as possible after the date quoted and we'll generally ship your entire order with your pre-ordered items. When your order is dispatched, we'll send you another email with details of how to track it.

Most orders are sent on a fully-tracked courier service with Yodel. To avoid perishable items being stuck at depots and deteriorating, no signature is required, and our courier is asked to leave your order in a safe place on your property.

We'll send a tracking link when we dispatch your order, so you know when its due to arrive. Please note, once delivered we cannot be held responsible for loss or theft from your property. If you have any specific delivery instructions, please let us know - there's an option to enter a short message for the courier at the checkout.

Smaller, lighter, single-item orders may be sent through the post with Royal Mail - in which case no tracking is available.

Our experienced nursery team will always send your plants nursery fresh in the perfect condition to thrive when you plant them, so although most plants are very tough and will not be affected by all but the most extreme frosts or heatwaves, we avoid dispatching the most perishable plants if extreme weather is forecast, or over Bank Holiday weekends.

Please note, we cannot guarantee delivery on a certain day or time. Delivery to outlying postcode areas may take 1-2 days longer, dependent on your location.
