A healthy and satisfying architectural shrub that would look right at home in any garden, with a multi-season colour display from spring through to autumn.
The plant is coated in fern-like bright green and yellow leaves from spring, but there is a delightful twist, with pink stems flowing through the centre.
Also known as Stag’s Horn Sumach or Bailtiger, ‘Tiger Eyes’ will burst to life in the early weeks of summer, as the leaves take on a richer golden tone.
Small yellow flowers will also start to appear at this time, before developing into tiny clusters of red fruits on the female variety. Do not be tempted to eat these berries however, as they are toxic!
Moving into autumn, the foliage becomes even more eye-catching and deepens to a luxurious shade of red and orange, forming a striking display.
‘Tiger Eyes’ is just waiting to become a staple feature of your display and would thrive in any border.
