Product Information

A two-tone treat with adorable blooms that evolve in colour with age, flowering for months, and a plant that battles through most conditions to remain full of foliage.

Witness a beautiful display as both young and mature flowers sit side-by-side across summer for a mesmerising blend of shades.

The tidy and well-behaved plant of lush green foliage erupts with small spikes of flowers from May to September, with petals first emerging in a soft shade of lavender pink, brightening to white with age.

As the blooms change colour, you will be left with a delightfully varied display, as both white and pink flowers can be seen at once.

This is a perennial with so many uses, as it remains compact enough for pot-growing, yet will also thrive in a bed, border, or part of a rockery. Be sure to remove any fading or dying flowers through summer, as this can encourage new blooms to emerge.

This is a hardy semi-evergreen shrub, so can lose some leaves in the winter months, potentially them all in particularly cold or exposed gardens, but do not fret as fresh growth will emerge to welcome spring.

Supplied as an established plant in a 9cm pot, ready to plant.

Top Tips

Grows best in well-drained soil in either full sun or partial shade, with some shelter from cold winds.

Care Information

  • Dig a planting hole three times the width of the roots of the shrub you're planting and mix some well-rotted compost or manure with the soil from the hole and use this to re-fill once the shrub is in place.
  • We've found that a square hole is better than a round one as the new roots, once they reach the edges tend to grow in a circle round the circumference of the hole whereas when they reach the corners of a square hole, they find it easier to grow through.
  • Before planting, soak container-grown shrubs thoroughly and allow to drain.
  • Remove the plant from its pot and tease out a few of the roots. Add Mycorrhizal fungi to the roots when planting to help plants establish quicker.
  • Place your shrub in the hole at the same level at the pot and refill the hole with the earth removed (backfilling).
  • Firm in the soil with your heel, avoiding the root ball and water well.
  • Mulch around the base of the plant with a collar, compost, gravel, bark etc.
  • If you're planting into pots, place some old rocks, stones or gravel in the bottom of the pot for drainage and ballast.
  • Use the best compost you can buy and some sand or grit for drainage.
