Description

Bring a warm Mediterranean feel to your garden this summer with fantastic standard olive bushes! These well-established plants have been professionally grown with a ball of foliage aloft an elegant stem.

Despite their Mediterranean heritage, olive trees are surprisingly tough and will happily grow in the UK down to -8C in winter, although it's best if you can protect them a little! With neatly shaped, evergreen grey-green foliage, Olive trees are perfect in borders or patio pots and will also look great in a pot in a conservatory. They love hot, sunny spots and thrive in free draining soil.

They produce small creamy flowers in spring which self-pollinate and may produce small olive fruits in hot, dry summers with plenty of time to ripen.

Olives are low maintenance, easy to grow and very slow growing, ideal for small gardens or busy gardeners. Great value and will add a touch of class to your patio!

All our Olives are sourced from specialist growers who are regularly inspected and tested for plant pests and diseases, including the new disease threat Xylella. We do not source Olives from High Risk areas. This is followed by further checks and inspections on our own Lincs nursery by DEFRA.

Top Tips
When positioning your tree, choose the sunniest spot available in your garden.
Care Information
  • If planting outside, this can be done from March to May. Select a well-drained, sheltered site against or near a sunny wall and stake plants well.
  • During the growing season keep the compost moist and feed with a balanced liquid feed every month.
  • Olives can be pruned in early spring and simply consists of a light trim to keep an attractive shape and to remove any dead, diseased or damaged branches.
  • To restrict the size of a pot-grown olive, tip prune the main branches, cutting back to a good replacement shoot each year.
  • Although olives are hardy, branches may be damaged by severe frosts. Store in a frost-free place if grown in pots or cover the branches with horticultural fleece.
Delivery Information

Please allow us 3-5 working days to dispatch your order. Pre-ordered items will be sent as soon as possible after the date quoted and we'll generally ship your entire order with your pre-ordered items. When your order is dispatched, we'll send you another email with details of how to track it.

Most orders are sent on a fully-tracked courier service with Yodel. To avoid perishable items being stuck at depots and deteriorating, no signature is required, and our courier is asked to leave your order in a safe place on your property.

We'll send a tracking link when we dispatch your order, so you know when its due to arrive. Please note, once delivered we cannot be held responsible for loss or theft from your property. If you have any specific delivery instructions, please let us know - there's an option to enter a short message for the courier at the checkout.

Smaller, lighter, single-item orders may be sent through the post with Royal Mail - in which case no tracking is available.

Our experienced nursery team will always send your plants nursery fresh in the perfect condition to thrive when you plant them, so although most plants are very tough and will not be affected by all but the most extreme frosts or heatwaves, we avoid dispatching the most perishable plants if extreme weather is forecast, or over Bank Holiday weekends.

Please note, we cannot guarantee delivery on a certain day or time. Delivery to outlying postcode areas may take 1-2 days longer, dependent on your location.
