Place your potted Olive Tree in the sunniest spot available in the garden to encourage a crop of fruit to emerge.

• When planting in a pot, use a loam-based compost, adding roughly 20 per cent grit to boost drainage. If planting in the garden, instead add the grit to the planting hole.
• Pot-grown plants should be transferred to a slightly larger pot each spring. Avoid overpotting by only moving to a container roughly 5cm larger in diameter than the existing one.
• Olive Trees are hardy but benefit from some winter protection. Small potted plants can be moved inside or left in the garden with bubble wrap or other insullation material applied to the pot. Use fleece cover to protect the canopy of the plant.
• Although drought tolerant, pot-grown olives must be watered regularly and not be allowed to dry out.
• Clip trees occasionally to retain a consistent standard shape.

If you have any specific delivery instructions, please let us know - there's an option to enter a short message for the courier at the checkout.

Smaller, lighter, single-item orders may be sent through the post with Royal Mail - in which case no tracking is available.

Our experienced nursery team will always send your plants nursery fresh in the perfect condition to thrive when you plant them, so although most plants are very tough and will not be affected by all but the most extreme frosts or heatwaves, we avoid dispatching the most perishable plants if extreme weather is forecast, or over Bank Holiday weekends.
