Product Information

The perfect way to grow fresh, juicy yellow plums in a small space or on the patio, Plum ‘Golddust’ is the amazing yellow-fruited, self-fertile plum tree you have been looking for.

Not just productive in terms of crops, ‘Golddust’ is also very ornamental, gracing your garden with a spectacular cloud of blossom in spring.

Producing heavy yields of golden-yellow plums despite being a very short and compact tree, 'Golddust' is self-fertile so you don't need another tree to get fruit, staying less than 1.8m across 10 years or so.

Easy to grow, this patio plum is ideal for planting in big pots or directly into the garden, where the sun’s rays can ripen the fruit and convert as much sugar as possible for the sweetest taste.

Supplied as a dormant bare-root tree, double grafted, about 70-80cm tall.

Top Tips

Stone fruit should not be pruned during winter, to minimise the risk of infection – early summer is the ideal time.

Care Information

  • Water regularly, and apply a mulch of well-rotted compost or manure over winter.
  • Established trees don't require radical pruning; just take off any diseased, dying, or damaged branches. Look at the overall shape and aim for an open structure of branches, removing any that cross over so they don't damage each other.
  • Hang wasp traps in trees and harvest crops as soon as they ripen. Avoid leaving windfalls or overripe fruit on the ground.
  • Don't forget the tree guards as rabbits can strip the bark overnight.
