Description

Breathtaking! Pure white flowers in the depths of winter, with a genuinely arresting perfume - this early-flowering shrub erupts when almost nothing else dares to bloom.

Winter fragrance at its finest! 'Perfume Princess White' is a chance mutation from its pink flowering parents, delivering the same early, long, and fragrant flowering, but with a fresh pure white twist.

From January through to March, this Daphne shrub produces elegant white flowers, lining the stems and cluster at the tips, filling your garden with a rich, sweet scent that stops visitors in their tracks.

And it looks good all year round! Dense, upright and bushy, with glossy evergreen foliage that remains in place and full of colour regardless of the season. Imagine stepping outside on a cold morning and being greeted by waves of perfume.

Borderline hardy, it benefits from protection in colder areas, but once settled it rewards you generously with dependable flowering and strong disease resistance.

Supplied as an established plant in a 13cm pot, ready to plant.

Top Tips
  • Daphnes are best planted near paths and doorways or at the front of borders where their delicious fragrance can be enjoyed.
Care Information
  • Plants will thrive in sun or part-shade with well-drained soil. They don't like dry roots, so water regularly and deeply.
  • Daphne will establish best if planted when the soil is warm between March and October.
  • Dig a hole twice the width of the rootball. Sprinkle in a handful of blood, fish and bone and work into the ground.
  • If your soil is heavy add plenty of well rotted compost to the area and dig it in well. Horticultural sand/grit added to the mix is also beneficial, especially if you have heavy clay.
  • Place the plant into the hole, back-filling so that it is at the same depth as was in the pot. Fill around the root ball and firm the soil down gently but firmly. Water well.
  • Where necessary after flowering, lightly trim to remove misplaced branches and maintain a compact habit, otherwise a quick clear-up of fallen leaves will suffice.
  • Daphne are known to have a delicate root structure, so take extreme care when removing this from its nursery pot, as the top plant can sometimes detach from the roots.
Delivery Information

Please allow us 3-5 working days to dispatch your order. Pre-ordered items will be sent as soon as possible after the date quoted and we'll generally ship your entire order with your pre-ordered items. When your order is dispatched, we'll send you another email with details of how to track it.

Most orders are sent on a fully-tracked courier service with Yodel. To avoid perishable items being stuck at depots and deteriorating, no signature is required, and our courier is asked to leave your order in a safe place on your property.

We'll send a tracking link when we dispatch your order, so you know when its due to arrive. Please note, once delivered we cannot be held responsible for loss or theft from your property. If you have any specific delivery instructions, please let us know - there's an option to enter a short message for the courier at the checkout.

Smaller, lighter, single-item orders may be sent through the post with Royal Mail - in which case no tracking is available.

Our experienced nursery team will always send your plants nursery fresh in the perfect condition to thrive when you plant them, so although most plants are very tough and will not be affected by all but the most extreme frosts or heatwaves, we avoid dispatching the most perishable plants if extreme weather is forecast, or over Bank Holiday weekends.

Please note, we cannot guarantee delivery on a certain day or time. Delivery to outlying postcode areas may take 1-2 days longer, dependent on your location.
