'Pitchoune White' combines the drama of a larger variety with a naturally tidy, space-saving habit. It's ideal for patios, balconies or borders. And those blooms - they're big, star-shaped trumpets in pure white, forming on sturdy upright stems in early to mid-summer, making a real statement that just keeps getting better year after year.
It's evergreen, drought tolerant once established, and low maintenance. Plus, it's just as happy in a pot as it is in a sunny border, and thanks to its shorter stature, there's no worry about staking or flopping stems.
Long-lived, winter hardy down to -5C, and rewards you with a reliable performance if you give it a bit of winter protection or a snug spot.
Top Tips
- You will often get more flowers when the roots are restricted, so this is certainly a plant that does better in a pot, which also makes it easier to protect during the winter.
Care Information
- Feed with a general-purpose fertiliser monthly from spring until flowering, then, from the end of September reduce watering and feeding to allow the foliage to harden.
- In colder parts of the UK, cover the crown of the plant with a deep, dry mulch to protect the plants from hard frosts, or grow in a pot so they can be overwintered in an unheated greenhouse.

Smaller, lighter, single-item orders may be sent through the post with Royal Mail - in which case no tracking is available.
Our experienced nursery team will always send your plants nursery fresh in the perfect condition to thrive when you plant them, so although most plants are very tough and will not be affected by all but the most extreme frosts or heatwaves, we avoid dispatching the most perishable plants if extreme weather is forecast, or over Bank Holiday weekends.
