Top Tips

These perennials will die back to ground level each year, in the autumn, but will return with new growth in the spring.

Care Information

  • Plant in well-drained and fertile soil that is kept moist. If planting in clay-based or sandy soil, be sure to add plenty of compost or well-rotted manure.
  • Feed in with a general-purpose feed, avoiding the stems.
  • Mulch immediately afterwards with organic matter such as well-rotted manure, leafmould or garden compost.
  • Water regularly during periods of dry weather in the first few seasons after planting, especially for container plants.
  • In early spring or late autumn, be sure to lift and divide large clumps.
