Description

A spark of woodland magic for your garden... Lily of the Valley are a cottage garden staple, and this special Pink and White Convallaria Collection offers two varieties - and two shades!

The classic white variety brings unmistakable spring fragrance and pure white bells above green leaves. The pink form adds a romantic twist, with blush-toned flowers. Plus, they are fully hardy, so you can plant with confidence in autumn or winter knowing they'll come back stronger each spring.

Lily of the Valley thrive even in tricky, shaded corners. Whether under shrubs, beside a north wall, or even in patio pots, they transform dull spaces into something truly special. And of course, the fragrant bells make wonderful cut flowers to bring indoors.

The foliage of these deciduous plants will naturally die back come winter, but will erupt with fresh growth come spring.

Supplied as a set of 10 Lily of the Valley pips, plus 5 Lily of the Valley Pink pips, ready to plant.

Please note: All parts are toxic if eaten and sap may irritate skin. Handle with care and keep away from pets and children.

Top Tips
  • Lily of the Valley does best when grown on in a pot before planting out into the garden from May - it dislikes being planted directly into cold, wet soil.
Care Information
  • Despite having a temperamental reputation, lily of the valley is easy to grow if you buy it ready potted in spring.
  • Before planting, prepare the soil by digging over and removing any weeds. Incorporate some well-rotted manure to enrich the soil if necessary.
  • Use a trowel to create a hole just deep and wide enough to set in the roots.
  • Spread out any underground stems and cover with just a couple of inches of the planting mixture.
  • Firm back around the soil, using your hand for small clumps and your heel on larger areas.
  • Mulch well with leafmould or well-rotted compost.
  • Water in well to settle the soil and prevent desiccation.
  • If you find that flowering is poor, an occasional dose of high-potash organic liquid feed may help.
  • The foliage of this deciduous variety will naturally die back underground in winter, before erupting into fresh growth come spring.
Delivery Information

Please allow us 3-5 working days to dispatch your order. Pre-ordered items will be sent as soon as possible after the date quoted and we'll generally ship your entire order with your pre-ordered items. When your order is dispatched, we'll send you another email with details of how to track it.

Most orders are sent on a fully-tracked courier service with Yodel. To avoid perishable items being stuck at depots and deteriorating, no signature is required, and our courier is asked to leave your order in a safe place on your property.

We'll send a tracking link when we dispatch your order, so you know when its due to arrive. Please note, once delivered we cannot be held responsible for loss or theft from your property. If you have any specific delivery instructions, please let us know - there's an option to enter a short message for the courier at the checkout.

Smaller, lighter, single-item orders may be sent through the post with Royal Mail - in which case no tracking is available.

Our experienced nursery team will always send your plants nursery fresh in the perfect condition to thrive when you plant them, so although most plants are very tough and will not be affected by all but the most extreme frosts or heatwaves, we avoid dispatching the most perishable plants if extreme weather is forecast, or over Bank Holiday weekends.

Please note, we cannot guarantee delivery on a certain day or time. Delivery to outlying postcode areas may take 1-2 days longer, dependent on your location.
