Description

A highly decorative, yet profoundly productive member of the citrus family. These kumquat trees will be spectacular when you receive them - absolutely coated in fruits, and ready to impress from day one!

These are really dramatic plants for the home and garden, with glossy evergreen foliage and thin-skinned fruits that are sweet, tart, and tangy on the tastebuds.

Introduce a feel of the Mediterranean to your garden, with fragrant white spring blooms, plus generous crops of golden-orange kumquats that taste as good as they look!

Kumquats can uniquely be eaten whole - their naturally sweet peel perfectly balances the sharp, tangy flesh inside.

Whether you eat them fresh, turn them into marmalade, or add them to drinks and desserts, these trees offer zesty flavour straight from your home.

Kumquat trees thrive in a warm, sheltered position of the garden, so are ideal for growing in pots on the patio from late March/April, before offering indoor protection from October. As an added bonus, bringing them inside may even trigger flowering!

As with all Citrus products, make sure to apply our Blooming Fast Citrus Feed every time you water these plants while in active growth.

Please note: Some fruit may naturally drop during transit. Do not worry, with the right care, your trees will continue to grow and produce more fruit in its season.

Top Tips
  • For best results, bring indoors to a cool area for from October, before returning to the garden for summer from late March / April.
  • Feed with our Specialist Citrus Feed every month in spring and summer growth - they are hungry fellows.
Care Information
  • Citrus tend not to thrive in centrally heated homes, so from mid-June to late September, give plants a treat and transfer them outside to make the most of the available sunshine - but remember they are not frost tolerant so will need bringing under cover if cold nights threaten.
  • In summer, water freely - ideally with rainwater, while in winter you can reduce the amount - allowing the surface to partially dry out before watering again.
  • Always allow excess water to drain away as overwatering in winter is one of the commonest problems, so err on the dry side.
  • Only minimal pruning is required to reshape or remove dead or damaged shoots.
Delivery Information

Please allow us 3-5 working days to dispatch your order. Pre-ordered items will be sent as soon as possible after the date quoted and we'll generally ship your entire order with your pre-ordered items. When your order is dispatched, we'll send you another email with details of how to track it.

Most orders are sent on a fully-tracked courier service with Yodel. To avoid perishable items being stuck at depots and deteriorating, no signature is required, and our courier is asked to leave your order in a safe place on your property.

We'll send a tracking link when we dispatch your order, so you know when its due to arrive. Please note, once delivered we cannot be held responsible for loss or theft from your property. If you have any specific delivery instructions, please let us know - there's an option to enter a short message for the courier at the checkout.

Smaller, lighter, single-item orders may be sent through the post with Royal Mail - in which case no tracking is available.

Our experienced nursery team will always send your plants nursery fresh in the perfect condition to thrive when you plant them, so although most plants are very tough and will not be affected by all but the most extreme frosts or heatwaves, we avoid dispatching the most perishable plants if extreme weather is forecast, or over Bank Holiday weekends.

Please note, we cannot guarantee delivery on a certain day or time. Delivery to outlying postcode areas may take 1-2 days longer, dependent on your location.
