Product Information

One of the most fascinating and unique foliage plants you can grow in your garden – the leaves of this semi-evergreen perennial are practically begging to be observed up close.

Excellent groundcover with a two-tone effect. Slightly ruffled leaves boast dusky, deep shaded burgundy undersides and a light dusting of silver to the top of each, as well as a dark vein that breaks up the silver shade – what a marvel!

In the warm summer months, pinkish white flowers can even be seen emerging from the foliage on slender stems to add an extra layer of interest.

Easy to grow, hardy to withstand winter conditions, and versatile enough to be planted throughout the garden, what’s not to love?

Introduce this compact ‘Silver Scrolls’ Heuchera into the front of your borders to form a striking colour contrast, while it also looks remarkable filling window boxes or pots.

Supplied as an established plant in a 9cm pot, ready for planting.

Top Tips

Be sure to grow in soil that is fertile, yet well-drained, in an area of the garden with sun or partial shade.

Care Information

  • Before planting, prepare the soil by digging over and removing any weeds. Incorporate some well-rotted manure to enrich the soil if necessary.
  • When planting multiple perennials, arrange them on the surface so you can see how they will look before planting.
  • Individually knock out each plant from its container. Look at the roots – if they are circling around the compost, it is best to tease them out. To do this, push your fingers into the rootball along the bottom edge and pull. Do this in a couple of places. This should encourage the roots to spread into the surrounding soil.
  • Next use a trowel or spade to create a hole just deep and wide enough to set in the rootball.
  • The aim is to bury just the roots, leaving the bases of the stems (when in growth in summer) or the shoots (in spring) above ground.
  • Firm back around the soil, using your hand for small clumps and your heel on larger areas.
  • Water in well to settle the soil.
  • Clumps can be dug up and divided in autumn or spring to give you more plants.
